In the previous post I mentioned that I had seen a tattooed hairless dog, so I retraced my steps and found the link for anyone interested. You can check it out here. If you’re an art fan, the entire piece is very interesting and includes a project in which he tattooed pigs as well. Thanks to the artist, Andy Feehan, for permission to post thisĀ photo!

on:When Sheri adopted Noid, she knew he was the product of a backyard breeder, so she was prepared to deal with some health problems and it wasn’t long before his health problems started showing up. He had terrible acne and numerous allergies, especially to wheat and corn. Undaunted, Sherri adjusted his diet and set about rectifying his skin problems with serious spa treatments.
Check back tomorrow for more on Noid’s struggle with Canine Cystinuria…

Here’s Noid on his 4th Birthday. If we’re lucky, maybe his mom will stop here and tell us how to make that cake! It’s kind of a miracle Noid made it this far given the tribulations of his short life. Luckily, he has a very devoted mom who knew he was for her the minute she laid eyes on him a little less than four years ago in an apartment building where she went to meet him for the first time. And she’s been devoted to his health and well-being since she brought him home. All this week, I’ll be featuring photos of Noid and filling you in on his journey with Canine Cystinuria.

Very Cool Crested Tattoo

I’m a bit of a tattoo fan and this is one of the coolest tattoos I’ve seen. Super creative re-imagining/re-imaging of a traditional dragon tattoo merged with a Chinese Crested. It’s inked on the arm of mbolism, mom to previously featured VooDoo and Aurora Dior. Her friend billyvoo took the photo and documented the process. You can see more of that if you check out his flickr stream. He’s got a number of amazing photos. Why not go and enjoy them? And, in case you’re interested, the tattoo artist is Scott Budgen of Lady Luck Tattoo, in Waterford, Michigan. That’s a long way to go for a tattoo (from here), but from the looks of his gallery, it would be well worth it. Check out the black and gray tattoos, especially the (currently) last two: photos of mbolism’s Italian Greyhound with angel wings tattoo. Another very creative idea, beautifully rendered. You can see a bit of it in today’s pic if you look closely. Super nice. Really sweet of them to let me post it, too.
If you’re interested in owning/being owned by a Chinese Crested or Italian Greyhound, or any other breed, please consider rescue. There are so many lovely dogs just waiting for a chance to love you and let you love them.

Here’s Aurora Dior, housemate to Voodoo who was posted here last week. She’s wearing a hairpiece designed and created by mbolism. Check out her store, hairofthedogdetroit, for cool Crested accessories!
Here’s what mbolism has to say about Aurora:
“Aurora was originally from Canada. She got sent to Voodoo’s breeder as a puppy to show, etc. but they quickly realized something was wrong with her. After getting her a BAER test, they found out she was born 100% deaf (closed ear canals) probably due to her extreme “whiteness”.
I adopted her from them because she had to be spayed and couldn’t be shown. I taught her ASL (sign language). She graduated from basic obedience and is also a certified therapy dog. She’s just amazing. She’s just an angel in a crestie costume… LOL!”
